16 Must-Have Baby Items: Inside My Ultimate Diaper Bag for a One-Year-Old!
As a mom of four, I know firsthand that what you pack in your diaper bag can change depending on where you're going and what adventures you're embarking on. However, some things remain essential no matter what! Here are 16 must-haves for your one-year-old's diaper bag:
Diapers and Wipes
Of course, diapers and wipes are a given but to keep them contained and flat, I use this mesh bag organizer to store diapers and keep the diaper bag organized. Also, instead of using a wipe case and constantly having to refill the case, we use these disposable wipes from Target that already have a lid!
Toiletry Bag
Another essential is a toiletry bag with items such as:
Motrin/Dropper - for unexpected fevers
Body Wash - for washing up on the go
Sun Block - to protect little one's skin
Bandaids - for scrapes and cuts
Hand Sanitizer - especially important after 2020
Butt Cream - for diaper rashes on the go
Clothing
Toddlers are unpredictable, so it's always a good idea to have an extra change of clothes in the bag. I also keep socks, a bib, and an optional/seasonal hat for colder weather.
Toys and Snacks
To keep my little one entertained when we're out and about, I always pack a pop-it and a toy car. As for snacks, I like to keep an applesauce packet, a cup, and a snack cup with a lid to prevent crumbs from falling all over the bag.
Bag
The Luli Bebe bag in the petite version is the perfect size for me. However, looking back, I do wish I had gone with the bigger one (the original) because they are times I want to pack a bigger blanket or more toys depending on where we are going. I used to keep my wallet in the bag as well, but I found it more secure to have a cross-body bag for my wallet.
