Hello,

I’m Christina and this is my home office.

This is where I work as: virtual assistant and content creator. I also use this space as a vanity to get ready.

Before:

I had an industrial desk that I bought off of Facebook Marketplace. It was located in dinning room where everyone had access to me and could easily interrupt me, “Mom get me apple juice, Mom where are my socks?” It was frustrating to get any work done #momproblems. Not only that but the desk felt small for all that I do.

In my bedroom is where I had my vanity that I used not only to do my makeup, but to also to film my YouTube videos. My YouTube videos background seemed pretty bland and lacked interest.

My solution was to create a space for work, film my YouTube videos, and be able to still get ready and do my makeup and have space where I can work in peace.

A large desk space was important so I am able to multitask and not feel cramped. I can work at my computer, do voice overs, write in my notebook all at the same time.

Also I decided to move everything to my room so I’m able to shut the door in case I have zoom meetings and this was already a place where I did my videos.

I felt an L-Desk would be best for this space, so I gave my vanity to my daughter so she can use it as a desk and sold my desk on fb! I got this beautiful l-shape glass desk off of amazon. It’s large to where I can multitask and I liked how visually it’s easy on the eye. Also, since it’s glass I can write notes with dry erase marker.

Chair:

A good chair was 100% necessary due to having neck and shoulder pain. My chiropractor says it’s from sitting at the computer for long periods so goodbye metal chair - hello to this beautiful white and gray chair

For a more visual appealing background in my videos, a place for pens and highlights, and to keep clutter off my desk - I went with this Peg Board that’s completely customizable.

I use it to hold:

I added these color changing lights behind it for my videos. It came with a remote control to change the color and switch up the vibe.

Also, since this area of the room is completely dark.. I added this light that doubles as a charger for my phone and for my camera this way I don’t have to bend down under my desk to charge this items that are used often. I also keep more pens and my sticky notes here so there always in arms reach for my spontaneous ideas.

Behind my desk -I’m fortunate to have this twelve inch shelf that’s kinda like a window sill. At first I didn’t like it but I learned to love it because I’m able to utilize this space for multiple things. For example, directly behind my computer, I keep a tripod for an added angle while I’m filming YouTube videos, I also keep this phone tripod that makes it easy for Zoom meetings, Instagram stories, and I can also use it to film videos on my phone.

Behind my computer, I use also use this ledge to hold:

Under my desk:

To organize my files and things like my printer paper, envelopes, cords, more tripods, I got this file organizer cart that I can easily push back or forward as I need it. I also need my printer under my desk which hides all my cords.

End Look:

This workspace has allowed me to feel relaxed, yet focused and productive while I’m working. It’s multi-functional and my dream workspace come true.
